The final shape of process and product take shape in the β-phase. Industrialisation is checked. Also the overall appearance of the company will changes a lot. Questions that are answered in this phase are:

• Is the performance good enough for the industrialisation demands?
• How big are the effects of process parameters on the quality?
• What are the technological risks of the new process?
• What are the consequences to logistics, HRM, facility, etc?

Besides these questions manuals have to be made, production personnel has to be trained, audits have to be done and production will start. Ideally the β-phase transfer smoothly into the mass production phase.
